Sunday Afternoon Chess is a community, quick-chess tournament where all ages and skill levels are welcome, from beginners to experts, no fees involved. The playing field is leveled with various divisions and time handicaps against the higher rated players (everyone receives a local rating). Our proven rating and handicap scheme produces tournaments where even the most experienced players are challenged, and the least experienced players meet with success. Everyone tends to win fifty-percent of the time. When someone has more wins than losses, their rating goes up along with a tougher handicap adjustment for the next tournament. Fewer wins lowers one's rating and adjusts the handicap for easier games the following week. Each participant will play six to ten rounds in a two hour period. Local ratings will be maintained and published here, using pseudo-names if you request. Results will be published here.
