Introduction
Our singular focus at Cadesa (formerly InfoSphere,
Inc.) is full-text indexing and retrieval technology.
Our single product is a high-end search engine, ProIndex,
a software development kit. First released on
June 1, 1995, ProIndex is now available on over ten
platforms as a C library and is used in multiple programming
environments around the world. We are a small
company, serving a few good clients who need the raw
power of a superb retrieval engine. At Cadesa we are
utterly accessible, flexible, and partial to the success
of our clients.
History
ProIndex was six years in developing. There
was no rush to market. Three mathematicians/computer
scientists, Brad L. Morin, Brent W. Hughes, and Chris
L. Morin, Ph.D., were responsible for the C library
interface, original algorithms, and coding.
The original motivation was the love of an elegant
concept developed by Brad Morin in 1989. Brad, who
now considers himself a theoretical mathematician
gone astray, left academia in 1995 when ProIndex was
brought successfully to market with the help of Wayne
Rust. Randy Hughes later helped to further develop
InfoSphere, Inc. and the marketing of ProIndex.
In January of 2003, Norm Christensen joined Brad and
the company name was changed to Cadesa LLC. Norm's
experience with information technology at Novell,
West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation,
and as an Assistant Director in the F.B.I. is providing
new insights and opportunities for Cadesa.
Philosophy
We find great satisfaction in happy clientele.
We refuse to rush new development. Great ideas require
time and a brutal beating to prove themselves.
ProIndex is unfinished business, with significant
enhancements in the works, but it will remain a lean
and focused SDK.
